Dinner and wine to help homeless veterans

September 28, 2012 by

With proceeds going to support the Shepherd’s Heart Veteran’s Home, The Roving Wine Dinner and Auction will soon take place at Valley Brook County Club.

The dinner and auction will feature various dining stations, wine, a cash bar, musical entertainment, raffles ,and an auction. It will be an exciting evening made all the more special by the cause it is supporting.

It will also be a chance for those who are interested in helping veterans, homeless or not, to network with one another. Local business experts might find some common ground and come up with other ways to help homeless veterans in their community. With that in mind, those planning to attend might want to arrange for a new business card printing order from McMurray printing companies. This way, they can ensure that if they do meet someone they want to work with, they will be able to keep in touch through the exchange of a business card.

The Shepherd’s Heart Veteran’s Home helps homeless male veterans by providing food, transitional housing, employment assistance, life skills training, and free shuttle bus service, providing daily services to 150 – 200 homeless veterans. Before they are allowed to stay at the home, which is sponsored by three local organizations, veterans must apply to the Veteran Administration’s Comprehensive Homeless Program.

The dinner will be held on Thursday, October 4 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Tickets are $50 and suggested dress is business casual. For more information call 412-281-1305.
