The 28th annual golf outing of the Strongland Chamber of Commerce will take place at Oak Lake Golf Course on June 22 beginning at 8:30 am. Fees are $115 per golfer or $420 for a foursome. For dinner only, the cost is $30.

Golfers will be treated to a continental breakfast, snacks and beverages on the course, lunch, a barbecue dinner, and country music entertainment. Fees also include the green fees 18 holes of golf, plus another game to be played at a later date, and a golf cart. There will be several prizes to be handed out during dinner including $5,000 for having a 50-foot putt and various hole-in-one prizes including $5,000, golf clubs, a trip, and a gift certificate. Prizes will be donated by Chamber members and other local businesses.

Sponsorships range from $100, which is the price to sponsor a tee, to $500. All sponsorship levels will be mentioned in the event program, while the $500 sponsors, company name and logo will be displayed on a banner. Strongland Chamber members from all over the area, including nearby Leechburg, are most likely looking forward to this yearly event with great anticipation. No doubt, area printing companies will be providing both the event program and the necessary banner printing services which will be required.

Most chambers of commerce have golf tournaments in either May, June, or July when the courses open up for the season. Golf has proven to be an excellent networking opportunity for business, since discussing business in a relaxed atmosphere such as the golf course often results in deals.
