Artists have chance to exhibit in Lansdale

The Lansdale Festival of the Arts will take place at Memorial Park on August 25 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event is free to the public.

The festival will feature fine art, handmade crafts, food and beverages, door prizes, music, and a marionette theater for the children. This is a juried art festival and there will be several cash awards for various categories of art, including framed watercolor, pastels, oil, mixed media, photographs, prints, and graphics. Also, there will be awards under the crafts category for Outstanding Craftsmanship and Outstanding Exhibit.

Those who wish to exhibit their artwork or crafts apply to take part in the festival. There is a $45 fee for exhibitors, which includes a 12 x 12 space. Those crafters who wish to compete for Outstanding Exhibit will most likely be working with Lansdale printing companies to make their area as attractive as possible. Banner printing and sign printing services can make their booths stand out from the others and make them more appealing. A tastefully designed and colorful banner will help draw people, and not to mention judges, to their area, as can a well-designed sign.

Summer is definitely the time for arts and crafts festivals. It is the perfect time for the public to discover a new artist and for new artists to finally take the plunge and sell their art. There is no hard sell and people take their time just enjoying the arts and crafts that are presented to them. It is also a great way to introduce your children to the joys of art.
