Lansdale Farmers’ Market has a new location

When the Lansdale, Pennsylvania, Farmers’ Market starts its 2017 season, it will open in a new spot.

Last year, the Market operated in the parking lot of the Hillcrest Shopping Center, but this year new business pads are likely to be developed at the center, meaning it would not be available for the entire summer.

In earlier years, the Farmers’ Market could be found in the Madison Parking Lot, also in Lansdale. However, that site too is going to be tied with construction during most of 2017, with new apartments slated to be built on the lot, and work finishing up on the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) parking garage.

Fortunately for vendors and patrons, the market is going ahead, this time at Penndale Middle School on Penn Street. Carol Zellers, who is on the board of the market, expressed gratitude to the school district for letting them use the property. She added that there is plenty of parking, the route carries a lot of traffic, and there are trees to provide shade.

The Lansdale Farmers’ Market opens May 20 and runs every Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine. The market operates through November 4.

Activities like this can benefit if organizers work with a flyer printing company, which can create a handout listing vendors and where they can be found.
