Annual conference will teach small business owners how to succeed

January 30, 2014 by

The 3rd annual Small Business University is taking place in Chalfont this February. It is a presentation of the PennSuburban Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Committee.

The keynote speaker will be Blaine Forkell of Wegmans Food Markets who will be telling the story of his company’s success. Later, attendees can choose between three seminars each in two breakout sessions. Topics of discussion will include “Making the competition irrelevant”, “Leveraging peer expertise to strengthen your bottom line” and “Inspirational leadership and nurturing excellence, improving performance and attracting and returning top talent.”

There will be breaks between each session which will give those in attendance a chance to network with one another and possibly put into practice some of what they may have learned in a seminar. It will be likely that everyone will have a business card to exchange and have a short elevator speech ready to go. Many will probably have to place a new business card printing order before hand, just to ensure that they have enough cards to exchange with their peers who will be coming from all over the area including nearby Lansdale.

Small Business University will be held at AWebr in Chalfont on February 7 from 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM. Tickets are $30 for Pennsuburban Chamber of Commerce members and $15 for an additional guest from the same company or $45 for non-members and $20 for additional employees.
