United Way of Mercer County seeks support through auction

The annual auction at Thiel College is coming up next month. It is presented by the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and raises funds for the United Way of Mercer County.

Those who attend the event will be treated to hors d’oeuvres and an open bar. There will also be live, silent, and Chinese auctions taking place throughout the evening. It is very likely that local companies will be called upon to provide items for the auctions. Items which are usually up for auction include such things as hotel packages and gift certificates. It should be a fun evening and a great way to raise money for a very worthwhile organization.

This event will no doubt attract people from all over the area, including nearby Hermitage. Organizers will likely be availing themselves of services like banner printing and flyer printing to prepare for the auctions. Banners can be used to recognize those companies that have donated items to the auctions. Flyers can be mailed out to everyone in the community to help get more people to attend and to raise more funds for a worthwhile cause.

The United Way of Mercer County funds various projects and programs throughout the area. Most workplaces hold events to raise funds for the organization, usually beginning in September.

The 14th annual auction will take place at Thiel College in Greenville on March 8 beginning at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $45 per person or $350 for a table of eight. For more information contact Janice Schwanbeck at 724-588-7150.
