October is a time to party for charity
October 17, 2013 by Max
Two upcoming events in Mercer County this October will raise funds for a pair of vital organizations to residents; namely the Community Library of the Shenango Valley and the UPMC Horizon Community Health Foundation.
The first event, which is a fundraiser for the Library, is a Wine and Cheese Party. The evening will feature refreshments, a Chinese auction, musical performances, and a raffle for an American Girl doll. Raffle tickets are $2 for one or $5 for three. Those who believe in the importance of libraries will no doubt be looking forward to attending this annual event.
Next, the 9th annual Boo Ball will be raising funds to cover the UPMC medical equipment recycling program. This is a costume party. Guests will enjoy dinner, dancing, and door prizes. Music will be provided by The Hern Brothers. There is also going to be a costume contest for prizes.
Both of these events will probably attract people from all over Mercer County, including Hermitage. Local print companies will probably be helping to market the event by providing products such as flyers to be distributed throughout the area.
The Wine and Cheese Party is taking place at the Community Library of The Shenango Valley in Sharon on October 24 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Tickets are $20. Call 724-981-4360 to find out more about the event.
The Boo Ball is being held at The Corninthian in Sharon on October 25, starting at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $35 each or $300 for a table of 10. For more information call 724-983-7159.
