Have fun at the Buhl Park Winter Fest

January 27, 2012 by

The Buhl Farm Park Winter Fest will take place on February 12 from 12-4 pm. There will be lots of activities for everyone in the family to take part in.

Winter Fest will feature many fun outdoor events such as an ice sculpting demonstration, dogsled rides, a horse-drawn wagon, a snow angel area, a scavenger hunt to find multi-colored freeze pops, sled riding and a tube run, cross country skiing, the Great Snowman Challenge, a maple tree tap, art demonstrations, food such as roasted marshmallows, hot dogs, popcorn and hot chocolate, a chilli cook-off, stories by Miss Victoria, and an appearance by Smokey the Bear. The Boy Scouts will also be demonstrating a winter camp site. The Great Snowman Challenge will be judged at 3pm and prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

There will also be an information booth set up to help you find your way to all the activities. You can also pick up a Great Backyard Bird watch kit. Local printing companies in Hermitage will be busy providing important products to the Winter Fest including schedules, guides and maps.

Many people would just like to hibernate over the winter but if they do they are losing out. There are lots of outdoor activities for the family at the Winter Fest, most of which include physical activities. Too many children are allowed to spend their winter days indoors playing with video games or watching TV, you owe it to your kids to show them how much fun winter really can be outdoors.
