Celebrate business with the Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce

The Shenango Valley Chamber of Commerce is presenting the 2012 Phoenix Awards and Leadership Luncheon at the Corinthian in Sharon on May 17th. Tickets are $35 and the meal will include hors d’oeuvres and dessert.

Winners of the Phoenix Awards winners for 2012 were announced on April 25th. All have contributed in some way towards the betterment of the community. For example, The Keystone Blind Organization is dedicated to promoting independence for blind and visually impaired persons, as well as educating the public about eye health and safety. In that same vein, the eCenter @LindenPointe offers services to entrepreneurs in the Ohio and Pennsylvania region, such as training, mentoring, and education.

Such awards often give people the added incentive to do the best job that they can in their own business, while other businesspeople can learn from the winners by finding out what they may have done differently. The awards are also an excellent networking opportunity for those chamber members from all over Shenango Valley, such as nearby Hermitage.

While a business card is definitely a must-have, many business experts arrange with brochure printers to provide them with a booklet or brochure that describes their business and what it can offer to other businesses in the area. It is just as easy to hand over a brochure as a business card at an event such as this and traditionalists can paperclip a business card onto the cover of the brochure. The same rule still applies whether handing out a brochure or a business card; follow up as soon as possible.
