Buhl Day festivities will take place at Buhl Park Farm in Hermitage on September 3 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. This is a free event that should appeal to the entire family.
The day will kick off with opening ceremonies at the Performing Arts Center. Throughout the day, attractions on offer will include musical entertainment, games, children’s activities, a petting zoo, pony rides, a show from the Buhl Mermaids, a classic car cruise-in and an art show. The Buhl Park Casino will be the venue for the art show, which should be popular with artists and art aficionados alike.
Artists who wish to showcase their work during Buhl Day can submit three pieces to be considered for the show. Each submission costs $10 for adults or $5 for children, although adults with plenty of material to showcase can submit three for $25. There are four categories of art that will be accepted: Professional, Non-professional, Photography, and Youth (ages 17 and under). All work will be judged by two professional artists and the winners will receive cash prizes.
There will be no selling allowed at the art show butit will be an excellent opportunity for local artists to display their work and possibly get some extra commissions out of the show. While they cannot sell any work, artists taking part should arrange with Hermitage printing companies for a business card printing order. That way, if people are interested in purchasing any artwork from them, they can pass on their contact information easily.
