New Chik-Fil-A struts in to reward its fans

In anticipation of its soon-to-open location in Hanover, fast food restaurant Chik-Fil-A is distributing coupons to people willing to wait in the parking lot for 24 hours.

For the past decade, the chain has held pre-opening parties in its parking lots, which usually feature music and a DJ, entertainment, a tent to provide shelter and security. The chain also frequently features its renowned waffle fries and fried chicken at the parties. In honor of the latest opening, the company held a party starting at 6:00 am this morning, designed to last until the newest store opens its door at 6:00 am tomorrow (August 8).

Instead of limiting the coupons to the first 100 people, each person who showed up this morning was given a raffle ticket. 100 tickets were drawn and those with matching tickets were allowed to stay to receive the coupons. The company is likely to have made use of local stationery printers to produce each coupon book.

The coupons were only distributed to people over the age of 18, and eligible chicken enthusiasts were given a book of 52 of them. Each was good for a sandwich, medium fries and a medium soft drink. The total value of the coupon books was over $300 each.

Although the event did not officially start until 6:00 am this morning, it was expected that some people would show as early as last night in an attempt to claim their place and pick up a coupon.
