Learn all about team building

The Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce is presenting a team building workshop on February 3 from 8-11 am. Tickets are $5 for Chamber members and $75 for non-members.

The workshop will be led by Dave Wauls of the CMA Consulting Group. Those who attend will learn the basics of team building. They will learn about the 4 stages of team building, how to be a good team leader and what the characteristics of a successful team member and team leader are. People should come away from this workshop with a clear understanding and with ideas on how to go forward.

A business is only as strong as its many parts; without cooperation between management and employees a company will fail miserably. Employees who lose morale will work less hard, they will not really care about the job they are doing and they can create a negative attitude that can destroy a company. There are other ways to raise morale like recognizing an individual’s good work. Printing companies in Hanover can help with items such as certificates of accomplishment or employee of the month plaques. However, it is important that everyone in an organization works together as a team.

There are several team building exercises that help bring a group together. Exercises such as scavenger hunts and designing an egg parachute are used quite often; they force people to work together to come up with a solution. Brainstorming is also often used; people are divided up into teams and asked to solve a specific problem.
