Easton Area Public Library offers books for sale

June 5, 2013 by

Libraries are normally used so that people can borrow books rather than buy them but, from June 6 to June 11, the Easton Area Public Library will be offering books for sale to the public.

The book sale will be held at the main library, in the Catherine Drake Meeting Room. People can get to the sale by entering the library from the 5th street and Church Street entrance on the lower level.

The sale officially kicks off tomorrow, June 6, at 2:00 pm, but members of the Friends of the Library have the opportunity to purchase books this evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm during a Friends-only pre-sale. People who want to join the Friends group to take advantage of the advance sale may still be able to pick up a membership form at the library.

The Friends group provides support for the book sale. Members of the group collect and sort the books, then sell them during the sale to raise money for the library. A local printing company can help promote the book sale by producing signs for the sale and forms for people who want to support the library.

While the best selection of books will be available early on, there will be special offers as the sale goes on. Monday, June 10 is ‘Half Price Day’ from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, during which time all books will be sold at 50% of their price. June 11, the last day of the sale, features a ‘Bag Sale’ from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
