Library in Doylestown hosts Gadget Fair
January 4, 2013 by James
Although technology abounds, not everyone has the opportunity to purchase or try out the latest gadgets for themselves. The Bucks County Library Center, in Doylestown, will give kids the chance to play with a few fun gadgets in the month of January.
The Kids’ Gadget Fair will take place at the Doylestown library and will feature a number of popular electronic devices, from the Barnes and Noble Nook e-reader to the Apple iPad. A number of other gadgets will also be on hand for kids to explore and experiment with.
The goal of the Kids’ Gadget Fair is to draw children into the library and to encourage reading and engagement from a young age. The Fair is just one program in the Bucks County library system’s active children’s library programming. Other programs at the library include a scavenger hunt that encourages children to find secret clues in the library and decode a message for a prize. Both the gadget fair and scavenger hunt are drop in events, meaning families do not have to register in advance.
The Doylestown library center also hosts story-time events throughout the week. There are several such events each day, for different age levels, from baby through preschool. The library encourages people to register in advance for story time.
Doylestown flyer printing can help spread the word about the many children’s programs held at the library. The library center might print calendars of events and distribute them to parents and teachers.
The Kids’ Gadget Fair is scheduled on January 12 and January 26 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the children’s department.
