Doylestown museum to mark MLK day with special event

December 24, 2016 by

Doylestown’s Michener Art Museum will be recognizing Martin Luther King Day with a celebration, and all are invited to attend and join in the spirit of the day.

The festivities will focus on the experiences of children from all over the world. Attendees will learn about how there are similarities and differences between the different cultures around the globe. There will be arts and crafts making, and presentations by special guests. Participants will even have a chance to write a letter to a child who attends school in Kenya in Africa. Banners and other festive decorations that fit in to the overall theme of the day can be crafted for an event like this by a printing company.

Those who come out will also have an opportunity to browse through the Small World-Big Hearts exhibits that will be set up and running throughout the month. The lead sponsors of the event is Penn Community Banks, with additional support provided by Morrie Breyer & Michael Mamp and FACT Bucks County.

The Small World, Big Hearts: MLK Day of Service and Art will take place at the Michener Art Museum on January 15, starting at 2:00 pm. It is being offered free of charge to members and nonmembers alike.

Further details about the celebration and an opportunity to register can be found by visiting the museum’s website.
