Doylestown fun run to support food security

Bucks County Foodshed Alliance will be hosting a fun run, and people from across the county are invited to come and show their support.

The organization, which works to help ensure food security in the area, has organized both a five kilometer and one kilometre run. People are encouraged to gather their friends, co-workers, and families together to participate in the day, which is open to all ages.

In addition to the running, there will be refreshments, and a chance to socialize with other participants. Each person who register before August 20 will receive a custom designed race T-shirt, and awards will be presented to the top finishers in the different age categories.

The organizers of the activity are looking for both businesses and groups that would be interested in acting as sponsors, and also volunteers who are willing to lend a helping hand. To thank them for their assistance, volunteers will be given a T-shirt, while supplies last, and sponsors will have the names and logos included on the promotional products used to advertise the race throughout the community.

The Bucks Foodshed 5K & 1-mile Fun Run will be held on September 3 on Doylestown’s Delaware Valley University campus. Sponsorship applications will be accepted until July 15. More information, and links to sponsorship applications, have been included on the event’s website.
