Doylestown College presents summer gala concert
July 19, 2012 by James
Few things say summer quite like a picnic and a chamber music concert and this Saturday, July 21, the Lenape Chamber Ensemble will perform its final concert of the Summer 2012 season at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown.
Saturday’s concert features flutist Pamela Guidetti , who usually performs with Orchestra 2001 as a soloist, as a special guest. She has also performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia and has dazzled audiences in Europe, performing at the Prague International Music Festival.
Guidetti is sure to wow the audience on Saturday with her performance of ‘the Charles Griffes, Poem for Flute and Strings.’ The piece has been arranged especially for her by Robert Capana, a composer who was once headed Philadelphia’s Settlement School of Music.
Other members of the ensemble who will be performing on Saturday include Ohad Bar-David on cello and David Fay on bass. Violinists Barbara Govatos and Dara Morales will also perform. In addition to the ‘Poem for Flute and Strings,’ the ensemble will perform the ‘Trout Quintet in A Major’ by Schubert and the ‘Piano Trio in G Major’ by Mozart.
Doylestown printing services were probably made use of to produce informative and engaging programs from the performance. Programs for events of this nature usually provide biographies of the musicians as well as the history of the compositions performed.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Before the concert, people will have the opportunity to have a picnic on the lawn of the college, with tables also available. A champagne reception will be held after the concert.
