Butler crowns new beauty queen
January 4, 2013 by Mark
Butler County has crowned its latest beauty queen as of the end of December. Seventeen-year-old Kourtnie Regan was given the crown and title of Miss Butler County 2013 during the pageant, which took place at the Kean Theater in Richland, near Butler. The pageant included the traditional evening gown and swimsuit categories, as well as an interview session.
In addition to taking the overall crown, Regan also earned the title of Miss Photogenic. Winning Miss Butler County means that she is automatically entered in the 2014 Miss Pennsylvania USA pageant. If she winds up winning Miss Pennsylvania, she will be able to enter the national Miss USA pageant.
Regan is no stranger to pageants and her high school, Seneca Valley, is no stranger to pageant winners. She earned the title of Young Miss Butler County in 2007 and Teen Miss Butler County in 2009. In 2012, her classmate, senior Hannah O’Donoghue, won the Miss Butler County pageant.
Winning the Butler county pageant meant a number of prizes for Regan. She won gift cards to Macy’s department store, a crown from a local jeweler, and a $300 prize from a salon. The Miss Pennsylvania USA pageant will also cover the cost of her entry fees for that contest.
Butler print companies could benefit from this year’s Miss Butler County winner. Regan could be used as the face for a number of local print campaigns. By winning the pageant, she has shown that she has poise and is able to answer questions intelligently.
