The AABC Free 2012 Invitational Art Exhibit is taking place at the Art Center from January 14-March 2. The opening reception will take place at the Art Center on January 13 from 7 pm.
The reception will feature live jazz music, hors d’oeuvres and a cash wine bar. Those in attendance will have the chance to meet the artists who will be taking part in the art exhibit. The exhibit, presented by the Associated Artists of Butler County (AABC) will feature 70 works of art by 16 regional artists. The gallery is open from 12-6 pm on weekdays and 12-4 pm on Saturday.
Butler printing companies most likely provided the poster used to advertise the exhibit which features a painting by Bill Vrscak entitled “53rd and Natrona.”
It is important that communities celebrate their artists. Many people in smaller cities do not get as much chance to enjoy art as those who live in larger ones. Local galleries and art societies are important and exhibits such as this bring a community together. While you can view any work of art your heard desires on the Internet, there is nothing like seeing original art in person. Everyone must experience “real art” at least one in their lives.
The exhibit also draws attention to these 16 talented artists who live in the area and don’t often receive the attention from the public that they deserve. The arts must be celebrated as often and as loudly as possible.
