Learn about business in Broomall over lunch

January 30, 2012 by

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce is holding a “Business Association Leadership Luncheon” at Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Springfield on February 10 from 11:30-1 pm. Tickets are $15 and include lunch.

The luncheon will give all business associations in the area a chance to describe their services and to recruit new members. The Chamber believes these association must work together to overcome “economic development obstacles and strengthen business in every pocket of the county”. After all, if these associations work together it will only make business stronger in Delaware County.

Joining a business association or a Chamber of Commerce gives your small business a step up and helps to ensure it will be a successful venture. These associations or chambers offer training, discounts on products and services, they advocate for small business with city, state and federal governments, and they offer many networking opportunities.

The leadership luncheon will help you to network with business leaders from all over the county, including Broomall. Arranging for a business card printing order in advance of attending the event will make sure you don’t run out. Develop and practice your 60-second “elevator speech” to deliver when you hand over your business card to a business peer; this speech should encapsulate all that your business stands for. Remember to tell the person you meet what you can do for them and follow up with them at the earliest opportunity; as soon as you get back to your office after the luncheon would be a good time.
