Sensory-friendly Easter event planned for Bethlehem area

Autistic children are often sensitive to sound and other sensory input, and a special Easter event has been planned for the Bethlehem area that will give them a chance to fully enjoy the spirit of the holiday.

Live Learn and Play has partnered with South Mall and the Easter Bunny himself to offer a sensory friendly event. The music and lighting will be kept low, and both the bunny and his helpers will take care to be as quiet and calming as possible. Along with a paying a visit to this well-loved rabbit, the guests can engage in the sensory friendly Easter egg hunt that has also been planned for the day.

Anyone who is interested in attending the function with their child is asked to register ahead of time. There is no cost to participate, but donations are most welcome. The organizers have also put out a call to any autism-related vendors who are interested in setting up a display for the day. Each one is asked to have a children’s activity set up at their table, and a printer can be called upon to create an assortment of promotional products for a day such as this.

This sensory friendly visit from the Easter Bunny has been planned for April 9 in the South Mall, located at 3300 Lehigh Street in Allentown. Further information can be found on its website.
