Women urged to don running shoes in Willow Bay
August 5, 2013 by Sarah
In less than two weeks’ time, the Syracuse Chargers Track Club (SCTC), Inc. will be hosting a 5K run at Willow Bay for women.
The route for the race runs along Onondaga Lake, and it will be closed to traffic for the duration. The top three finishers in the race will receive awards, as will a winner from each age bracket of 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, and every five year age group that goes beyond that. Teams will also receive awards for top finishes.
The SCTC was founded in 1969. Its mission is to educate the community on fitness and promote the importance of a healthy, fit lifestyle. To this end, the organization holds a series of different races and walks throughout the year.
Organizers and promoters for the SCTC might want to reach out to flyer printing companies to create advertising materials for this event that they can distribute in nearby areas like Liverpool and Syracuse. They may also want to contact brochure printer to create informational material about their programs.
There is an admission fee of $35 for the race. Runners can sign-up in advance or register between 6:30 am and 8:00 am on the day of the race. The race itself will begin at 8:00 am and will be followed by the award presentations when it is over. All racing times will be submitted to the Road Running Information Center at the USATF, for those who are interested in tracking national rankings.
