Blood drive and writing event coming up

June 25, 2012 by

Early next month, Williston Park residents will be getting a chance to participate in a blood and food drive and, in the meantime, local writers also have an event to look forward to in this year’s International Thriller Writers’ ThrillerFest.

The activity begins July 2 with the “Feed the Need Blood Drive.” Set to begin at 1:30 pm, residents are being asked to come in and donate a pint of blood, along with at least five non-perishable food items. Being held at the Hillside Public Library in New Hyde Park, those who are interested in giving back to the community have a legitimate opportunity to do so through the blood drive. With donors also receiving tickets to see the New York Mets, organizers have taken steps to make sure that no one leaves empty-handed.

With Flyer Printing, business card printing , poster printing, and possibly even banner printing required as part of the event, it should come as no surprise that printing companies are likely to be involved with preparations for ThrillerFest VII. Taking place on July 11 and continuing up until July 14, this event is in many respects a fiction writer’s dream come true. Writers who opt to put in an appearance at this event will get to meet other well-known thriller writers during CraftFest, while also acquiring professional contacts through AgentFest.

Concluding with the 2012 International Thriller Writers Thriller Awards Banquet, there are a number of reasons why this year’s ThrillerFest would appeal to a writer. Those interested in purchasing tickets can do so through the event website.
