Families in Westbury will have the chance to enjoy outdoor fun and music when the Kidstock Festival returns to nearby North Hempstead this month.

This year marks the event’s third yearl. Roscoe Orman, better known as “Gordon” from Sesame Street, will serve as the MC for the day’s festivities. Scheduled to appear as part of Kidstock are The Milkshakes, Brady Rymer, and Bari Koral Family Rock Band, all Grammy nominees. The musical styles on offer will include pop, folk and so-called “kindie” rock.

Rock City, an interactive program, will take place between performances. It is designed to introduce young people to various instruments and is presented by Bach to Rock. The town can promote the education component of the festival using postcard printing. Each postcard can describe the program and encourage families to attend the festival.

Music won’t be the only activity on offer during the event. There performers from the Big Apple Circus will stroll through the crowds, providing mobile entertainment. There will also be plenty of physical activities, from soccer and baseball games to relay races. Inflatable bouncy castles and obstacles courses will also be set up. Arts and crafts and face paintings booths will be scattered throughout the area.

Kidstock will get started at 2:00 pm on August 18 at the North Hempstead Beach Park. Musical acts will perform from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. From then until 8:00 pm, there will be a beach party hosted by DJ Kev Dee. The festival wraps up with a screening of “Escape from Planet Earth” at 8:00 pm.
