Busy month ahead for Baldwin residents

August 1, 2012 by

Baldwin-based book lovers and creative types will have at least a couple of planned events geared towards them with a Creative Writing Workshop being held weekly while the Book Lovers Bonanza continues to thrive as well. When the Hurricane Preparedness seminar is also taken into account, it’s clear that August is going to be a busy month for many individuals.

The activity starts right away with the Merrick Senior Center hosting a Creative Writing Workshop series. It has been said a few times before that everyone brings experiences and perspectives to the table that can be crafted into a book. Even so, it never hurts to brush up on the tools needed in order for an to write the best novel possible. Free to attend and being hosted at the Stage Theatre, these workshops will be taking place on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th of August.

Going from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm more often than not, this is going to be nothing less than an informative series.

Also kicking off on the 1st is the Book Lover’s Bonanza. Having started up earlier in the summer and still going strong, there are plenty of deals to be found here.

For both professionals and concerned residents in general, the upcoming Hurricane Preparedness Program is another event to watch for. Being hosted by Senator Charles Fuschillo Jr. and Assemblyman Dave McDonough, this presentation is going to be a joint effort. Although there’s likely been professionally done flyer printing used ahead of this mini-seminar, it’s worth stressing once again that this free program will be full of practical content.
