Baldwin on the run this July 4

With an Independence Day run and a bartending contest coming up in the following weeks, Baldwin residents clearly have a couple of options available to them this July.

The activity starts off early with the 30th Annual Bellmore Striders Independence Day 4-Miler. Starting bright and early at 9:00 am, this is a great opportunity for people who love being active. Split into two runs, most entrants will probably be participating in the four-mile run, while younger participants have the option of doing the one-mile run instead. With refreshments available for each mile, as well as the finish line, the only thing runners will need to worry about is choosing a good pair of running shoes.

According to advertisements, prize money will be going to top 3 finishers for both male and female participants in the Open and Masters categories. Free to attend and offering tank tops to the first 500 people who enter, this is an excellent chance to be physically active. It would be a surprise if brochure printers were not involved with this yearly event in some capacity.

The ongoing Guest Bartender Contest started May 3 and will finally be concluding this month on the 26th of July. Also free to attend on a week-to-week basis, people have the option of coming in for this one and finding out who the winner of the $300 grand prize is going to be. With the last four nights being held July 5, 12, 19, and 26, this is definitely a great way to spend an evening.
