Spring all set to swing in

March 20, 2013 by

The ‘Swing into Spring Big Band Dance’ invites guests to dust off their dancing shoes and come out and enjoy the big band sounds from the Black Tie Affair Orchestra.

At this function, the guests will enjoy a wide selection of music and be able to dance to the various sounds. Poster printing and flyer printing by local print companies may have been used to promote this high-stepping event to people in the area.

Anyone who loves music and the jitterbug will be provided with an evening of fabulous fun. The Black Tie Affair Orchestra is among the most beloved orchestras that perform in this region and at this dance, there will be a number of special guests vocalists that will add to the enjoyment and types of dance numbers from down memory lane.

A 17-piece orchestra, it includes Tom Manual, as well as legendary vocalist Phyllis Tagg, and will take the guests on a fun romp through the classic era of Duke Ellington, Harry James, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgeral, Rosemary Clooney, Frank Sinatra, Tommy Dorsey, and many others, reawakening the sounds of the 1940s, when dancing was a must.

The cost to purchase tickets is $20 per person and everyone is welcome. The dance will be happening on Saturday, March 23, starting at 8:00 pm at The Suffolk Theatre located at 118 E. Main Street in riverhead, New York, just a short drive from Smithtown. To purchase tickets, please visit The Suffolk Theater website, or call the box office at 631-727-4343.
