Hauppauge gets its skates on for Boston
May 24, 2013 by Mark
Skate for Boston is a huge upcoming hockey tournament featuring teams from the Suffolk County Hockey Leagues and should be a great event to bring the entire family out to watch, with funds to be raised to support the One Fund Boston Foundation and those affected by the tragic recent events in Boston.
Prior to this event, people are welcome to ‘Adopt a Team’ and have them play under their banner, so print companies in the area are likely to be kept busy over the next few days – particularly those that offer banner printing services.
The ‘Adopt a Team’ initiative looks set to be a boon for businesses, as they will also receive a full-page advertisement in the Memorial Day Journal, which will offer them exposure across the Long Island communities. Smaller display advertisements can also be purchased and will assist with funding the tournament. Individual donations can also be made by check.
Each team that participates in this tournament will play a minimum of three games, which will no doubt make for some exciting hockey action for spectators. A silent auction will be run from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with all donated merchandise being auctioned off. Proceeds will go to the One Fund Boston Foundation.
The tournament will be taking place on Monday, May 27, starting at 9:00 am at the Rinx located at 660 Terry Road in Hauppauge, New York, just down the road from Smithtown. To learn more, please visit the One Fund Boston Foundation website.
