Spooky fun for Schenectady this fall

October 26, 2012 by

There are no doubt many families and friends planning their own celebrations across Schenectady this fall, as the scary season is now just a few days away. However, getting into the spirit of the year, many local business and organizations are also entering into the fun and games again.

One event which is sure to get many residents interested is the Halloween Hustle 5K. Taking place tomorrow, October 27, in Central Park, the 5k race is something in which all members of the family can take part. Handicapped-accessible too, all are invited to join in and dress up in their spookiest costume possible.

With a kids’ fun run starting things off at 9:00 am and prizes for all age groups taking part, it is a way to get the scary season off to an active start and practice running away from all those terrors.

Humorous horrors are on the agenda at the Mop and Bucket Company theater group this season, as the Improv group once again presents its Spooky Ooky Pooky extravaganza. This year presented in wonderful 3D, there will be ‘thrills and chills’ a-plenty, as well as laughter for all.

It is not just in downtown Schenectady that poster printing for Halloween events has been needed though. Taking place in nearby Rexford, the pets also have something to look forward too.

Riverview Orchards is putting on its annual Howl-o-ween Party on Saturday, October 27, raising funds for the Animal Protective Foundation. Involving costume competition and hayrides, with special ones for dogs, it should be a fun event.
