Youth to benefit from local artists

The Creations with a Heart arts and crafts show will take place at the Maplewood Family YMCA next month. Admission is free and any funds raised through raffles, food, and vendors fees will go to support the Maplewood Family YMCA’s Invest in Youth program.

The artists and crafters were chosen by a jury and over 40 are expected to be in attendance, with those who took part in last year’s show automatically accepted. Artists were asked to donate one item worth over $15 to the raffles that will be held during the day.

Chosen artists and crafters can rent a 4’ x 8’ booth for $25 or an 8’ x 8’ booth for $30. They might also want to use services like banner printing and poster printing from Rochester printing companies. Banners and posters displayed in a booth are very likely to bring more attention to the area and therefore probably increase sales.

There will be plenty of quality arts and crafts on display at the show, including custom bags, jewelry, paintings, tote bags, ceramics, hats, toys, quilts, dolls, and woodwork. The Lifespan’s Lily cafe will also be open for food and refreshments.

The Invest in Youth program offers skills learning, sports programs, scholarships, sponsoring of Y memberships, child care, before and after school programs, camps, and fitness for seniors. Last year, it was able to give over $200,000 to the programs, including almost $175,000 in YMCA memberships to people of all ages.

The creative show will be held on October 13 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
