Winter festival breezes back to Rochester

The 3rd annual Freeze Fest will be taking place for three days at the University of Rochester this weekend.

There will be a huge variety of activities to take part in this festival, which is mostly free for all. Currently, organizers are holding a contest to name the event’s mascot. There is set to be outdoor hockey games, an igloo building contest and ice carving demonstrations. Food trucks will be on hand to provide refreshments. In addition, there will be a snow shoeing, the 6th annual bakeoff, Velcro snowball fights and cupcakes, the ACUI poetry slam, and the Sausage and Sauerkraut Festival.

Other activities are expected to include the frozen dance party, an Iditarod race, rock n’ bingo, and a performance by comedian John Oliver. With this year’s weather, it looks likely that there will be no shortage of snow and ice.

Rochester stationery printers are often asked to help out with events such as this. They help to produce products such as flyers and posters that can be distributed throughout campus and the city to boost awareness levels around the area.

Freeze Fest is taking place at the University of Rochester from today until this Sunday, February 23. Tickets for the John Oliver concert are sold separately. To find out more about the festival and the events taking place, call 585-475-7651.
