Rochester crafters ready to find out Y

The Maplewood Y Craft Show is offering exciting shopping opportunities to people this weekend – in very good time for the holiday shopping season or, for those who prefer, a spot of relaxed shooping with a difference.
A juried show, it is open to the public and features more than 40 local artisan’s works, as well as some tempting bake sale itmes. Guests will find gourmet jams, jellies, painted glass, fused glass, woodworking, oils, soaps, paper art, jewelry, pottery, and other fine arts. There will be door prizes, sponsor’s gift certificates, and raffles of artisans works.
Guests are bound to enjoy learning about the crafts used when working on model railroad items, as well as the construction methods put into practice. There will also be an international food sale, and the Irondequoit Art Club will be selling many of its paintings, as well as doing painting demonstrations. Perhaps it will provide some inspiration for any artists, graphic designers, or print company workers in the area.
The show acts as a fundraiser with benefits going to the Maplewood Y’s Invest in Youth Program. Special guests on the day will include the FCCT HiRailers.
Admission is free to everyone, as are parking and childcare facilities. It will all be happening this Saturday, October 12, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Maplewood YMCA located at 25 Driving Park Avenue in Rochester, New York. To find out more about this event, please visit the show’s website.
