Festival welcomes spring to Rochester

The Rochester Lilac Festival is taking place for 10 days this May.

The festival will consist of the Lilac Parade, 10K and 5K runs, a craft beer garden, free concerts and children’s entertainment. Among the concerts taking place are ones by the Original Wailers and Eddie Money.

A wine and chocolate tasting party will allow guests aged 21 and over to purchase tickets and receive a commemorative glass. More than 20 New York wineries will be participating, as well as several locally-based chocolate providers.

There will be an arts and crafts marketplace taking place during each weekend of the festival, which is expected to feature more than 120 artisans from all over the United States. This is a juried event, and visitors will have the opportunity to purchase homemade and unique items, such as jewelry and works of art.

The organizers are selling official merchandise for the Rochester festival, which includes an official poster and T-shirt. Printing companies are often asked to help provide items such as these.

The Rochester Lila Festival will be held at Highland Park from May 9 to 18 from 10:30 am to 8:30 pm each day. Admission is free. Tickets for the wine and chocolate tasting taking place on May 13 to 15 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm are $15 each. To find out more, visit the official website.
