Residents in the Port Washington area are getting excited for the 2017 PortFest. The event features performances, art, and several exhibitions.

The purpose of the festival is to celebrate the creative spirit in Port Washington. As such, a wide variety of different activities, entertainments, and performances are included in the day. Two different stages are being set up, which will host local live bands as well as student music and theatrical performances.

Several buildings and tents will be set up showcasing local artists across a number of different media. Visitors will also get the chance to get into the action at the Interactive Experience stations. Seven different areas have been set up making everything from tie dye, to body art, to lanterns. Art Galleries and Exhibitions will also be set up at the festival, showcasing both local professional and student talent.

Additionally the fest will have a massage service, food vendors, and informational booths for different service groups in the Port Washington area, including the Sylvan Learning Center, the Sands Point Preserve Conservancy, the Community Chest of Port Washington, and Plant a Row for the Hungry. Brochures with a map and more information about the different booths are available on the website.

PortFest will take place on May 14 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Schreiber High School Campus. Admission is free to the public. For more information, visit the website.
