East Meadow celebrates Ukrainian influence
June 11, 2013 by James
The Nassau County Department Parks, Recreation, and Museums is getting ready to host its Ukrainian American Night in East Meadow, New York.
The event is part of the International Music Nights Concert Series, which began on June 2 and will run throughout the summer. This series features concerts that are meant to celebrate the cultural diversity of Nassau County and is sponsored by Canon USA, Inc., which has made all of the performances free to attend. However, anyone who plans to attend is required to have a Nassau County Leisure Pass.
The concert will take place at the Harry Chaplin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park. It begins at 7:00 pm and will run for approximately two hours. There is not any seating inside the theater area, so guests are encouraged to bring their own folding chairs to provide for their own comfort. The Lakeside Theatre will host all of the concert events in the series. It is also a site for other great summer time activities, such as outdoor movie nights, which are held regularly as well.
Print companies in Nassau County may very well be contacted by organizers for this or other similar events to create promotional materials that will draw in crowds in time for the event, which takes place on June 23. Flyers or promotional posters can be distributed all over Nassau County, from Long Beach to Port Washington, to drum up interest. As East Meadow is a central location in the county, it is a manageable drive for anyone from the area.
