Summer comes, but Patchogue gets ready to sing in the rain

At the end of the month, people in the area will have a chance to see a performance of one of the most beloved musicals of all time, in the form of ‘Singin’ in the Rain’. Poster printing, flyer printing, and brochure printing were likely used to promote the performance of this classic.

In the production, two tinsel town screen stars, Lina Lamont and Bob Lockwood, appear as the hit of the two – at least until the talky pictures begin to appear, their stardom fades, and it begins to rain down on their parade. After much consideration, the couple decides that instead of talking on the new film productions, it will be unique and sing its way back into stardom.

This production includes a number of upbeat and classic songs, such as ‘Make Em Laugh’, ‘Good Mornin’’, ‘Singin’ and ‘Dancin’ in the Rain’, and ‘You’re My Lucky Star’. A Gateway production, it should have the audience signing along happily to the well-known numbers.

Tickets for this performance are free, but getting them in advance is strongly recommended. Singin’ in the Rain will be performed from Tuesday, July 30 until Saturday, August 10 with evening performances starting at 8:00 pm and matinees at 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts located at 71 East Main Street. To check the times, or to purchase tickets, visit the Gateway Playhouse website or call the box office at 631-286-0555.
