Chuckles aplenty on the way to Patchogue

The Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Get Involved Comedy, will present an evening of comedy early next month, starring Bobby Collins.

JJ Boyd will serve as the opening act for the evening, and Joe Mylonas of Patchogue will host. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Boots on the Ground NY, and the evening will also serve as a collection spot for items and non-perishable food to be sent to combat troops.

Events such as theater performance are often advertised with poster printing. Tickets are on sale now through the Patchogue Theatre, either through its website, hotline, or box office.

Bobby Collins has a variety of experiences that he draws from in his comedy; before he became a stand-up comedian, he was a vice president within Calvin Klein. He has worked alongside Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld, and says that he prefers the energy and intimacy of live comedy.

Collins has hosted VH1’s show, Stand-Up Spotlight, and has been on tour with artists like Julio Inglesias, Tony Bennett, Cher, and Dolly Parton. To date, he has released six comedy CDs.

When the Patchogue Theatre opened for the first time in 1923, it held the distinction of being the largest theatre in the county. With its 1200 seats, it retains that distinction.

The evening’s entertainment takes place on September 6, starting at 7:00 pm
