Library unveils March schedule

The New Rochelle Public Library recently announced its events and programs for the month of March. Most likely, it is turning to a variety of printing services to make the community aware of these activities.

On Sunday, March 16, at 3:00 pm, the Westchester Harp Ensemble will be performing a free Family Concert of Celtic Harp Music to get in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day. The program will include a selection of enchanting and traditional Irish music.

On Friday, March 21, the League of Women Voters will hold its monthly Coffee and Conversation program with a special focus on women’s history and the leading ladies of Westchester in celebration of Women’s History Month.

Also in celebration of this, the First Lady of the Yiddish Stage, will give a musical salute to Molly Picon, the star of the Yiddish Theatre. In this March 23 program, Dr. Diane Cypkin will relate in English the life of the singer to the many songs she wrote and sang during her years as a performer and entertainer.

Finally, on March 30, Joan Crowe, a Cabaret singer, will perform at the Ossie Davis Theatre a range of songs written by ‘Women of Note’, including Bonnie Raitt and Bessie Smith. Pieces performed will include ‘Battle Hymn of the Republic’ by Julia Ward Howe and ‘America the Beautiful’ by Katherine Lee Bates.
