The Shops at Nanuet makes its long-awaited opening

October 10 saw the grand opening of the Shops at Nanuet. No doubt banner printing is being used throughout the town and the local area to make everyone aware of this much-anticipated event.

According to Simon Properties, which is the owner of The Shops at Nanuet, there are currently 30 tenants, most of whom have standard 10-year leases. Some of the tenants include Bonefish Grill, Banana Republic, Vera Bradley, 24 Hour Fitness, The Limited, and Cups Frozen Yogurt.

The executive vice president of development for Simon Properties, Tom Schneider, has said the center will have a differentiated mix of products and services, as well as an eye-catching architectural style with a main street orientation. The total size of the center is measured at between 750,000 and 760,000 square feet, and there will be 3,500 to 4,000 parking spaces on the ground level.

He added that the leasing effort is going very well. There are only four or five spaces that have not been leased. Some tenants were not ready for the grand opening, but most are expected to be occupying their spaces by the end of the month. Full occupancy is expected by the spring of 2014.

Ryan Hidalgo, general manager for The Shops at Nanuet, said there are many employment opportunities, but as it is difficult to hold a job fair during construction, the individual retailers are posting their own employment ads, meaning that résumé and business card printing is likely to be on the rise in the area.
