Presidential scholarship awarded to Ward Melville high school student

Elaina Frantellizzi of Ward Melville High School, located in East Setauket, just outside of Melville, recently received the Presidential Scholarship from Queens University of Charlotte. This scholarship will give her full tuition at the North Carolina School and is the highest scholarship honor from the school.
Only seven of the 330 students who submitted applications for the award were also notified of the good news. No doubt the high school is turning to a variety of printing services to let those in the community become aware of this high distinction.
Elaina says that she will now be going to Queens University this fall to study nursing, which has been her career of choice for many years. She has also been on the softball team at Ward Melville and was looking for colleges where she could get a softball scholarship and study. Up until this recent award, her options had been New York University and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
She had been looking at Queens but she did not get a sports scholarship. Now that she has been given this scholarship, she will be able to study nursing and be on the school’s softball team as well.
The mission of Queen’s University of Charlotte is to be a leading comprehensive university that provides educational experiences which nurture intellectual curiosity and prepare students for fulfilling and purposeful lives.
