Massapequa Park set for Saturday of joy
December 11, 2013 by Mark
This Saturday, December 14, looks set to be a busy day in Massapequa Park and the surrounding communities, and most likely a variety of printing services are being used to let those in the area know of the kinds of festivities taking place.
In Massapequa, at the Community Methodist Church, there will be a Cookie Walk featuring homemade fare. The price for the cookies is $10 per pound and each one will be wrapped for the holidays so as to make excellent gifts. There will also be Christmas ornaments and personalized gingerbreads for sale.
Meanwhile, in Syosset, the St. Edward the Confessor School will be holding its annual Christmas fundraiser with a Snowflake Boutique. The fair displays merchandise from local vendors and includes custom jewelry, hand-crafted gifts, home goods, handbags, gourmet baked goods, and candles. With many raffles for numerous prizes, including four tickets to Disney World, it is an event designed for all family members.
Additionally, a Holiday Craft and Artisan Market will be held in the afternoon at the VFW Hall in Farmingdale. There will be 34 vendors displaying their handmade items, and a bake sale and Chinese auction will take place to benefit Project HOPE and Long Island Cares.
Project HOPE is a healthcare organization helping those around the world, while Long Island Cares is a food bank providing resources for the hungry on Long Island. The Market will also be accepting donations of non-perishable food items and new unwrapped toys for Long Island Cares.
