Long Island film festival kicks off New Year

January 10, 2013 by

Those lucky enough to be living in the Massapequa and Rockville Centre area can start their year off on an eerie foot with the Macabre Film Festival occurring later this month.

Now in its second year, Long Island’s only horror film festival, created by TwichTwich Productions, will feature horror and sci-fi films from a variety of international filmmakers.

This gathering of directors, actors, producers and horror film fans promises to be an exciting networking opportunity for those both established and breaking into the industry. No doubt aspiring young artists will benefit from bringing their promotional materials, such as head shots, resumés, and digital business cards .

At the end of the event, there will be an awards ceremony for several categories, including Best Feature and Best Short as well as Audience Choice Awards.

Advanced tickets can be bought online for $15.00 until January 17, 2013 at the Living Dead Mafia website. After this date, tickets for the event are $20.00 and can be bought at the door.

The two day festival will take place at Best Western Mill River Manor, 173 Sunrise Hwy., Rockville Centre, New York, 11570. Those coming in from out of town and wishing to stay on location can call 516-678-1300 to make a reservation. They should be sure to mention ‘Macabre Fair’ to receive a discounted rate.

With the event scheduled for January 19 – 20, please note that all sales are final and there are no refunds on ticket sales. NYS sales tax additional on all ticket purchases. Press passes are also available.
