Local college to hold open house

Farmingdale State College, just a short drive from Massapequa Park, recently announced that it will be holding an Open House for prospective students and their families.

Most likely, it is turning to a variety of printing services to target those who are interested in this event, which will provide the opportunity for meeting with current students, financial aid and admissions personnel, professors, and staff from the various athletic activities.

The Farmingdale ‘Rambassadors’ will provide tours of the campus, which is 380 acres in size. These will include visits to laboratories, the new Campus Center, art galleries, and classrooms with enhanced technology. There will also be tours of Dewey and Orchard Halls for those who are considering living on campus.

According to Patrick Calabria, the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Enrollment Management, enrollment at the college is growing with more highly-qualified students, which speaks to the value of an education at Farmingdale. Visiting the campus of a college helps both students and their families to know whether a college matches a student’s preferences and what they are looking for in a college.

The degrees granted by the college are more career-focused, with opportunities to study global business management, aeronautical science, professional communications, criminal justice, horticulture, visual communications, applied psychology, medical technology, and sports management.
