Travel festival set for take-off

March 13, 2013 by

This weekend, the Automobile Club of New York will be hosting a travel marketplace featuring deals from a number of cruise lines, tour operators, and hotel chains – ideal for those looking to get away and keen to save a few dollars.

There will be free vacation giveaways available for those in attendance, with the grand prize being a four-day trip for four to the Walt Disney World Resort. Even those who do not win one of the prize giveaways will still have plenty of opportunities to save money on trips, however. Attendees could save up to $200 on a future cruise or vacation package and will also be able to find discounts on travel accessories and potentially save up to 30% off of items bought from the AAA Travel Store.

In addition to the great deals, there will also be live entertainment on hand. Children will be able to meet the minions from the hit film ‘Despicable Me’. Travel author Ann McAlpin will be there to discuss her books and travel destinations. Finally, since it’s the day before St. Paddy’s, there will also be Irish step dancing.

The event will be held at SUNY Old Westbury in Old Westbury, New York this Saturday, March 16. It runs from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and is free to enter. Organizers for the event may turn to printing companies for flyer printing and other promotional materials that might be distributed in nearby towns like Roslyn, Glen Cove, or Manhasset to draw in the crowds.
