Senior way to end September

Carrying the tagline ‘60 is the new 50!’, the 3rd annual Long Island Over 50 Fair is being held at the Melville Marriott, a short drive from nearby Manhasset, at the end of the month. The event hosts a variety of classes, workshops, and screenings for those who are over the age of 50 years old.

This year, there will be 30 classes taking place during the day, as well as over 80 exhibitors. The classes include activities like tap classes or yoga sessions, wellness classes with focuses on such aspects as weight loss and stress management, and financial planning seminars. Attendees are also welcome to take blood pressure tests, have a computerized balance screening, or undergo a body fat analysis.

The event takes place on September 30 and runs from 10:00 am until 4:30 pm. Admission is $6 for advanced registration or $8 at the door, although it is free to attend for any military veteran. Attendees are also encouraged to bring donations of money or non-perishable food for the Interfaith Nutrition Network. Those who do will be entered in a prize raffle. One new development for this year is the inclusion of free valet parking for attendees as well.

Printing companies will probably be sought out to create promotional materials leading up to this event. They may also be needed to create banners or informational brochure materials for the various exhibitors who will be on hand. The teachers and vendors may also carry out business card printing in the hope of turning fair-goers into repeat clients.
