Spring to be celebrated with free ice
March 11, 2014 by Mark
Rita’s, the Italian Ice chain, will be holding their annual First Day of Spring Free Italian Ice Giveaway later this month. People who visit a Rita’s location, like the one in Franklin Square, New York, will receive a free cup of Italian Ice in the flavor of their choice. The giveaway will also come in a special limited edition cup.
Rita’s is not the company that created Italian Ice, but it has made it very popular in the United States. The company was founded in 1984 by Bob Tumolo who was a firefighter in Philadelphia. He purchased the recipe for the ice from his neighbor, Rita, and adjusted it so that it included real fruit and had the taste we are familiar with today.
Promoters for this giveaway might want printing companies to create flyers so that they can advertise in nearby towns like Malverne or lynbrook. The organizers might also want print companies to create coupons or menus that they can hand out to the people who come for the giveaway. This might generate repeat business for their company in the future.
The giveaway will take place on the first day of spring, Thursday, March 20th, from noon until 9:00 pm. Hopefully, the weather will have warmed up enough for everyone to enjoy a different kind of ice to that of the winter.
