Social media workshop being held June 21st
June 12, 2012 by James
Lynbrook professionals and residents alike have quite a few options available to them this June with a mini-seminar on social media taking place along with ongoing events like the Farmer’s Market and the Summer Car Shows.
Although at this stage most people are already used to seeing how digital business cards and the Internet can help companies market themselves, not a lot of presentations have successfully been able to address the subject of how social media can benefit non-profit organizations. On the 21st of June, Hofstra University will be hosting a workshop called “How Not-for-Profits Can Benefit from Digital and Social Media Technology”. Covering a number of topics that include Twitter, Pinterest, E-mail, and Google Plus among others, this talk will ensure that those based in the non-profit sector have the information needed to leverage the power of the Internet for their organizations.
Of course, there’s plenty going on for those who reside in Lynbrook as well. Having originally begun last month on the 24th of May, the Farmer’s Market has given buyers a chance to buy fresh goods from local providers. Expected to take place every Thursday until Thanksgiving, this is a great way to get great food at a discount. With the market opening on the 14th, 21st, and 28th, there’s going to be at least three chances to get some shopping done in June alone.
Speaking of Lynbrook-based attractions, it’s worth mentioning that the Summer Car Shows have also started up fairly recently on the 7th as well. Whether looking for bargains or a bit of evening entertainment, residents are in luck.
