Ocean Beach set to cause a ripple with arts

August 7, 2013 by

This weekend, the Ocean Beach Community Fund will be hosting the annual Fine Arts and Crafts Show on Fire Island.

Guests will be treated to a wealth of arts and crafts presented by the fair’s vendors. Some of the goods people might find include clothing, jewelry, photographs, soaps, handbags, and mosaics. All of the items are handmade, and there is a rigorous selection process to make sure that the vendors are quality salesmen selling top-notch goods. Over 80 vendors will be on hand for the event.

The Ocean Beach Community Fund was created to bring cultural and recreational events to the area. It is also responsible for improving the environment of the region, as well as maintaining its beautification. All of its activities are meant to be completed without money generated from taxes, so as to improve the quality of life without adding any financial burden to the area’s residents. The program was founded in 1979.

The organizers and promoters for this event may want to turn to printing companies to help with their advertising campaign. Though the fair has existed for over 30 years, reminding people when it is happening can help to draw in new attendees. Flyers handed out in nearby towns like Babylon or Lindenhurst could help bring in more shoppers.

The crafts show starts at 10:00 am this Saturday, August 10, running until 6:00 pm. It then begins again at 10:00 am the following day and runs until 3:45 pm.
