The Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts (BACCA) is hosting its 23rd annual arts show this week. The show commenced yesterday and will run until this Saturday, June 16, in the Old Town Hall of Babylon Village, New York, which is a short drive away from Lindenhurst.
Guests are able to view original works from local artists in any of nine categories. They can also purchase work from the artists, but all of the pieces must remain in the exhibit until 1:00 pm on Saturday.
On Friday, June 15, there will be a reception and award ceremony for all of the participating artists. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served. Awards will then be given out for Best In Show, the Supervisor’s Award, and the Viewer’s Choice. There will also be first, second, and third place awards for artists in each of the categories. Participants in the student brackets will not be able to win the Best In Show or Supervisor’s awards.
Viewings for the exhibition took place yesterday and will also be available today from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. The awards ceremony will be held from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday evening and there will be additional viewing time on Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Printing businesses will be hard at work creating flyers and promotional material for this event. Artists may also want business cards printed in the hope that some of the viewers will be interested in their work or will want to commission a piece.
