Life begins at 50 in Long Island

At the end of the month, Long Island’s fourth annual Over 50s Fair will be held at the Marriott hotel in Melville, New York. The event features vendors, lecturers, exhibitions, and classes on a variety of topics aimed at those who are over the age of 50. Attendees will be able to learn about how to better maintain their health, fitness, and finances, as well as some ways that they might spend their free time with business and volunteer opportunities.

There will be more than 80 vendors on hand selling different goods, and more than 30 classes to attend. Special events include a comedy show and a Zumba class. There will also be an Amelia Earhart Simulator available for people to test their flying skills, and scooters will be available to rent out. The event also features a myriad of free health screenings for concerns like blood pressure or body fat. For those who are stressed and want a way to relax, there will also be several guided meditation courses.

The organizers for this event may turn to printing companies for their advertising needs. Distributing flyers and posters in areas within easy driving distance of Melville, like in Syosset or Lindenhurst, might entice more people to come and attend.

The event runs from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on September 29 and costs $6 if registered in advance or $8 at the door. U.S. Veterans can attend free of charge. There is also free valet parking for those who have to drive.
